Shirley Ann Davis

Shirley Ann Davis, 86, passed away on Aug. 20, 2025, in Liberty, Texas. Born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, to parents Joseph Travis Stine and Florence Cornelia Root Stine.

Shirley was a devoted Christian known for her loving nature, silly spirit, and deep affection for her family. She embraced life fully and was always the bright light in any room, celebrated for her silly humor and warm heart. She dedicated much of her life to her family, serving not only as a mother but also as a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to share laughter and create memories. Among her endearing qualities, she was also recognized for making the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a treat that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.

An avid gardener and farmer’s wife, Shirley took immense pride in her home and yard. She found joy in simple pleasures such as mowing the lawn, gardening, and sipping afternoon coffee with her late husband, Jimmy Allen Davis. Her days were often filled with love and devotion, whether it was peeling shrimp for family dinners or caring for the land they worked together.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Fregia and her husband Aubrey, and Deidra Hargrave and her significant other James Overton. She was a proud grandmother to Justin Fregia, Kelby Bean and his wife Chandra, Jacob Fregia, Jayce Fregia and his wife Courtney, Ryan Stiles and his wife Ashley, and Isabella Hargrave. Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy of great-grandchildren: Steyle Spurlock, Alyssa Taylor, Brynnley Fregia, Jordan Charanza, Laynie Dryer, Adalie Fregia, Judah Fregia, Calli Stiles, Konner Taylor, Alexis Campbell, and Mason Fregia, as well as her great-great-granddaughter Lilly Hudnall. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ronnie Davis, and his wife Patti.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph, and Florence Stine; her devoted husband, Jimmy Allen Davis; and her sister, Goldie Marie Stine.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas, starting at 11 a.m. with Sherriff Bobby Rader officiating. Interment to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Davis will forever be remembered for her nurturing spirit, unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of love and commitment to family will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
