MCSO: Covert recording device found at Memorial Hermann hospital in The Woodlands

On Aug. 22, 2025, an employee at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center found a recording device in a unisex restroom and alerted hospital administrators.

Hospital officials notified law enforcement, and the device was turned over to detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, which has opened a criminal investigation.

Memorial Hermann said it is fully cooperating with investigators and has begun a thorough search of the facility for any additional devices.

This is an active investigation. The Sheriff’s Office will provide updates as more information becomes available, including the timeframe the device was in place and details to help identify potential victims.
