Liberty High School cheerleaders earn 3rd place national ranking

Liberty High School cheerleaders and their sponsors proudly display their third-place medallions after earning a national ranking in their first-ever appearance at one of the nation’s most prestigious high school cheerleading competitions.

The Liberty High School cheerleaders have written their own Cinderella story this season.

After finishing eighth at the UIL Spirit State Championship for two consecutive years, the team set its sights even higher. This year, they stepped onto the national stage for the very first time in program history, and exceeded all expectations.

Competing against 36 teams from across the country at one of the most prestigious high school cheerleading national competitions in the nation, Liberty earned an incredible third-place national ranking.

The moment didn’t happen overnight. It was built on long practices, early mornings, sore muscles, and a determination to improve year after year. Coaches say the athletes’ resilience and work ethic made the difference when the pressure was at its highest.

The team also made it clear that this achievement belongs to more than the athletes.

Special appreciation was extended to Girls Athletic Coordinator and Principal Coach Karen Slack for helping prepare Liberty’s multi-sport athletes with the mental and physical toughness required to compete at an elite level. The cheerleaders also expressed gratitude to the Liberty ISD school board for its financial backing, the athletic booster club for its continued support, and the Liberty community for the constant encouragement shown throughout the season.

The team also thanked their parents and supporters for standing beside them every step of the way.

“Without the collective support of our Liberty community, this success would not have been possible. We are honored, humbled, and incredibly proud of what these athletes have accomplished,” said Haley Morgan, Liberty High School cheer coach.
