With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Makhia Alexis Wills-Gray Beagle, a radiant soul who touched the lives of many, on April 10, 2026, in Liberty, Texas. Born on October 22, 2010, in Edgewood, Kentucky, Makhia’s journey in this world, though far too brief, was marked by a vibrancy and love that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
Makhia was a freshman at Liberty High School in Liberty, Texas. A gifted volleyball player and track star, her dedication to her sports reflected her spirited determination and zest for life. A cherished member of Open House Ministries, she held a deep and abiding love for Jesus, which infused her days with faith and hope.
To describe Makhia is to speak of a loyal friend, an authentic and deeply loving person who embraced life with unmatched enthusiasm. She loved all with a heart wide open and loved deeply in return. Her personality was one of a kind — witty, cute, and genuine — traits endearingly mirrored in her beloved cat, Garfield, who kept her company and symbolized the adorable spirit she carried within.
Makhia’s family was her cornerstone. She leaves behind a grandmother, Lysistrata Beagle; grandpa, Stefan Furman; grandmother, Mildred Hope; father, Antwan Wills, Sr.; her mother’s companion, Dean Jackson; and siblings Mya Beagle, Daelynn Elam Beagle, Kaleigha Wilder, Antwan J. Willis, Jr., Demilyon Dumas, Donavyn Dumas, and Paisley Wills. Her familial circle extends to uncles Michael Beagle and wife Kayla, Matthew Beagle and wife Kelsie, Frank Hope, Brandon Fears, and Josh Wills; aunts Antoinette Wills and Jameka Wills; cousins Mason Beagle, June Bug, and CoCo Beagle. They, alongside her many friends and community, will forever cherish her memory.
Tragically, Makhia departed this world in a heartbreaking loss alongside her precious mother, Kara Beagle, and brother, Markel Beagle. She was also preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ricky Allen Beagle and James Wills; and her great-grandparents, Sharlene Ruth Beagle, Robert Ross Beagle, Charles E. Pierce, and Marion Louise (James) Pierce.
A visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at North Main Baptist Church, located at 4709 N Main, Liberty, TX 77575. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location, where family, friends, and the community will gather to honor her remarkable spirit with Pastor Donald Scott, Pastor Jerry Scott and Pastor Brittany Fields officiating. Burial services will conclude the day at Cooke Memorial, 1906 Lakeland Drive, Liberty, TX 77575, beginning at 3:30 PM and concluding at 4:30 PM.
Makhia lived life to the fullest, inspiring those around her to embrace each moment with courage, love, and joy. We hold on to her memory as a guiding light, a testament to a young life overflowing with love, loyalty, and faith. Though she is no longer with us in body, her soul and spirit remain forever etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Makhia Alexis Wills-Gray Beagle, beloved daughter, sister, and friend—you are deeply loved and forever missed.
