With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Markel Allen Beagle, a radiant young spirit whose life, though brief, was a beacon of love, faith, and joy. Born on May 6, 2009, Markel left us on April 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that will forever touch the lives of all who knew him.
Markel was a Junior at Liberty High School in Liberty, Texas, where he was more than just a student—he was a beloved peer and a gifted self-taught barber. Proudly running his own business, Merk Blendz, Markel’s talent brought smiles and confidence to many. His peers often found themselves skipping class to meet him in secret just to get one of his fine haircuts. And if caught, Markel, with that beautiful smile, would simply ask for a moment to finish, embodying a mix of humbleness and determination.
He was more than his skill with clippers and scissors; Markel was a young man deeply devoted to his faith. Recently baptized at Open House Ministries, where he found his church family and a new fire for Jesus, his entire demeanor transformed. When Markel walked into a room, his presence was not just noticed but felt a purely loving and respectful spirit shining through. He famously described himself as “1/2 Vanilla and 1/2 Caramel,” a sweet reflection of his vibrant and loving nature.
Markel loved life fully. He cherished watching the Texans and Astros, indulging in simple pleasures that brought him happiness. His proudest accomplishment extended beyond his business and artistic talent—it lay in his heartfelt expression of faith. Once, while cutting the hair of a lady’s two sons, Markel invited them to join him for Sunday worship. Although he passed before that Sunday arrived, the family honored his memory by showing up, a testament to the quiet but powerful impact of his love for Jesus.
Markel is deeply missed by his living family members, including his grandmother Lysistrata Beagle, grandpa Stefan Furman, his mother’s companion Dean Jackson. His sisters Mya Beagle and Daelynn Elam Beagle, and brother Mason Beagle; best friend Maurice Vega all will carry his memory close to their hearts. He is also survived by his uncles, Michael Beagle who was more of a dad, to him than an uncle and his wife Kayla, Matthew Beagle and his wife Kelsie, as well as uncle by choice, Mason “Moose” Dalke. Markel’s step great grandparents, Mark and Sue Gates, and cousins June Bug and CoCo Beagle also hold him dearly in their thoughts.
Though Markel’s time on earth was far too brief, he experienced the sorrow of losing those dear to him, including his grandfather, Ricky Allen Beagle, and his great-grandparents, Sharlene Ruth Beagle, Robert Ross Beagle, Charles E. Pierce, and Marion Louise (James) Pierce.
In a heartbreaking tragedy, he departed this life alongside his precious mother, Kara Beagle and sister Makhia Wills-Gray Beagle.
A visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at North Main Baptist Church, located at 4709 N Main, Liberty, TX. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Pastor Donald Scott, Pastor Jerry Scott and Pastor Brittany Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Cooke Memorial, 1906 Lakeland Drive, Liberty, TX, beginning at 3:30 PM.
Markel Allen Beagle was a young soul who loved Jesus, lived boldly, and shared his gifts freely—a beautiful smile and a presence that radiated pure love and respect. His tender heart, his striving spirit, and his devotion remain alive in the memories of those he touched and the faith he so passionately embraced. Though he has departed from our sight, his light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
Markel, we honor a soul who taught us the true meaning of joy, resilience, and love. His legacy is a testament to the beauty found in a life lived with faith, purpose, and boundless love.
