Andy Conner has announced his candidacy for mayor of Dayton, citing a background in public service, business and community involvement.

A graduate of Dayton High School and Baylor University, Conner has built a career helping individuals and families plan for their financial futures. He currently serves as a senior portfolio advisor, guiding clients through complex financial decisions.

Conner previously served three years on the Dayton City Council, where he said he gained valuable insight into the needs and priorities of the community. He believes that experience, along with his professional background, has prepared him for the role.

“I care deeply about this community and the direction we’re heading,” Conner said. “Dayton is growing, and with that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. I want to make sure we manage it the right way — with a focus on infrastructure, public safety and maintaining the character of our town.”

Conner said he plans to prioritize accessibility and communication with residents.

“My goal is simple — be accessible, be responsive and make decisions that are in the best long-term interest of Dayton,” he said.

During the campaign, Conner plans to meet with residents through small, informal gatherings to hear directly from the community.
