A brief court hearing lasting approximately 10 minutes was held Wednesday, April 22, in the 253rd State District Court in Liberty County in the case against former Liberty County Housing Authority Director Klint Bush.
Bush, who also served as the Liberty County Elections Administrator at the time the charges were filed, is facing multiple felony charges, including Misapplication of Fiduciary Property, Theft by a Public Official, Housing Authority Interested Commissioners, and Abuse of Official Capacity.
During the hearing, Bush was granted a personal recognizance bond.

According to proceedings in court, the hearing primarily served as a housekeeping matter, addressing and organizing paperwork ahead of the upcoming trial.
Bush’s trial is scheduled to begin May 18 and will be presided over by Judge Robert Trapp, the presiding judge of the Second Judicial Administrative District. Trapp attended Wednesday’s hearing via Zoom.
The case comes on the heels of a separate and unrelated criminal case involving three individuals who served on a housing authority board in Houston. In that case, one person has pleaded guilty, while two others have been charged in connection with the matter.
