Julia Ellisor Hoot

Julia Ellisor Hoot was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Evergreen, Texas, to parents, Irvie E. Cox and Susie Mae McCants Cox. She entered Heaven’s Gates on April 24, 2026, in Willis, Texas, at the age of 95.

Julia was involved in her community, bank board member of the San Jacinto County Bank for 30 years, owner of Ellisor Superette for 22 years, founding member of the Punkin VFD, 150 Water Board, and was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her greatest love in her life was her family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great and great great-grandmother. Julia will be missed by them and the people of San Jacinto County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvie and Susie Cox; husbands, Oliver Ellisor and Edward Hoot; son, Eddie Ellisor; brothers, Donald Cox and Douglas Cox; sisters, Falvey Everitt, Mildred Long, and Carolyn Neuman. Julia is survived by her children, Tammie Mack and husband Randy, Quitta Everitt and husband Shannon, and Randy Ellisor and wife Teri; daughter-in-law, Shelly Ellisor; brother, Dennis Cox; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to recognize Autumn, Gina, Emily and Maydell for all that they have done.

Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10 a.m., in the Pine Valley Cemetery with Bro. Dalton Currie and Bro. John Davidhizar officiating. Lunch will be provided, following the graveside service, in the Pine Valley Baptist Church fellowship hall.
