
David Allen Jones “Deda”, a devoted family man, faithful servant to the Lord, and Journeyman Pipefitter, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Humble, Texas. Born on August 2, 1956, in Albany, Georgia, David lived a life rich in love, craft, and music until his passing at the age of 69.
David dedicated much of his professional life to his work as a pipefitter in construction, proudly retiring from Local #211 in Houston, Texas. His skill extended beyond his trade; he was a gifted handyman and welder, known for his craftsman abilities. His career was marked by a commitment to excellence and reliability, qualities reflected in every aspect of his life.
A man with a deep passion for music, David was a talented country singer and songwriter who began his journey at Willie Nelson’s Nightclub “Talent Show”. Music was more than a pastime—it was a source of joy and connection. His weekend business singing and his success in winning several talent shows highlighted his remarkable talent and dedication to his art. His love for music left a lasting impression on many, and he was a cherished friend within the music community.
David’s warmth extended to all those around him. He loved watching television shows like Gunsmoke and American Pickers, and he was known to enjoy Dr. Pepper and Little Debbie Cakes. His heart belonged especially to his beloved dogs, Sammy and Lexi, and his love for animals was well known. Those who knew him will remember his steadfast presence—he cared deeply and showed up for everything, putting family and friends at the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bobbie Lou Jones; his daughter Wendy Nicholle Kelly and her husband Casey; brothers Ricky Jones and wife Cheryl, and Harold Jones Jr.; sisters Sharon Miller, Jonie Smith and husband Jerry, and Cindy Lou Jones. The family also cherishes his grandchildren Madison Jones and fiancé Eric Garrett, Jory Hedinger, Kiley Kelly, and Kendall Kelly, along with great-grandchildren Heidi Jones, Carter Jones, and Maverick Garrett. David leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, an extended family network, and many dear friends in the music community who will dearly miss his presence.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Bell Jones Sr. and Betty Jean Jones; his daughter, Jana Lynn Jones; and his sister, Debbie Jean Smith.
A visitation will be held on May 1, 2026, from 5 to 6 p.m., at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas, followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. on the same day.
David Allen Jones will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his artistic spirit, and his skillful hands that brought beauty and practicality to so many aspects of life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
