Oscar Guillermo Maldonado, a vibrant soul whose warmth and spirited nature touched the hearts of many, entered into rest on May 13, 2026, in Kingwood, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas, on June 24, 1984, Oscar brought joy and laughter into every life he encountered, leaving behind a legacy of love, happiness, and cherished memories.

Oscar was one of five children and grew up enjoying life. A happy child, he spent his early years playing sports and spending countless hours with friends. His energetic spirit was reflected in his love for the outdoors—whether he was tending to the lawn with his mower, working on different projects, or playing online games, he found joy in every moment. Music was a constant companion, underscoring his days with melodies that resonated with his lively heart.

Known affectionately as a big teddy bear, Oscar’s kindness and gentle nature made him a beloved figure among his family and friends. His charm and charisma earned him the title of a ladies’ man, but beyond that, he was a devoted son, sibling, and father whose family meant the world to him.

Oscar’s surviving loved ones carry forward his remarkable spirit. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Oscar Guillermo Maldonado, Jr., Kevin Joel Maldonado, Maria Dolores Maldonado, Anthony Ibarra, and Magaly Ibarra. His parents, Guillermo Maldonado and Zoila Cruz de Maldonado, remain pillars of strength during this difficult time. Oscar’s siblings—Jennifer Maldonado, Jorge Maldonado, Rosa Guzman and her husband Cristobal, Jackeline Maldonado, Jennifer Salazar, and Mario Sanchez—hold treasured memories close to their hearts.

His nurturing role extended to his nieces and nephews, including Nicole and Jacob, Jasmine, Madison, Rachael, Katherine, Kennedy, Kehlani, Ailani, Christopher, Matthew, Sebastian, Elijah, Christian, and Jackson, all of whom adored their great uncle. He also leaves behind his uncles Ramon and Lupe Maldonado, Arturo and Alicia Maldonado, Jose and Margarita Maldonado, his aunt Josefina Rodriguez, along with many more loving aunts and uncles, and cousins Juan Rodriguez, Janette Rodriguez, Julie Maldonado and her wife Evey, and Barbara Cortez and her husband Julian. Among friends, Tino and his wife Emilia, stand alongside many others who were touched by Oscar’s genuine and uplifting presence.

Oscar’s life was also marked by the memory of his grandpa Ramon Maldonado, his grandma Maria Dolores Aguilar, his great uncle Eliseo Aguilar, his Godmother Maria Aguilar, and cousin Adriana Martinez, who passed on before him, joining the countless others who welcome Oscar into the next chapter of his journey.

As we prepare to honor Oscar’s life, a visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The following day, Saturday, May 23, 2026, visitation continues at Neal Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.. A mass will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Kirbywood in Cleveland, Texas, at 10:00 A.M.. Interment to immediately to follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, Texas.

Oscar Guillermo Maldonado’s joyful spirit, boundless energy, and loving heart have left an indelible imprint on all who knew him. While his absence is deeply felt, his memory remains a beacon of love, reminding us all to embrace life fully, laugh often, and cherish those we hold dear. He was truly a man who lived with passion and tenderness, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire and uplift. Rest in peace, dear Oscar—you will forever be missed and forever loved.
