Robert Lee Cobb was born on May 30, 1950, in Cleveland, Texas, to Willie and Bertha Cobb. Robert attended school in New Caney, Texas. After graduating high school he pursued his higher education at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Later on he became a fire fighter with the city of Houston. He retired after 26 years, 9 months, and 29 days of service at Station 92C (ARFF). Robert also worked part time at Coe Appliance Center in Cleveland, Texas.
Robert Lee met and married the love of his life Lois “Kane” Cobb. A year later they welcomed their son, Derrick “Pokie” Cobb.
Robert found fulfillment in being of service to his family and community. He was the family GPS; before the mobile one. Any location that you had to go to, all you had to do was call Daddy / Uncle Rob and he would give you directions. He was the family handy man and easily repaired anything that needed to be fixed. He would often be seen “turning corners” in the community and visiting the local convenience store.
Robert Lee leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lois “Kane” Cobb; son, Derrick “Pokie” Cobb; special niece / daughter Sonya “Tammy” Scott (husband, Anthony); special nephew / son Adrean Carter (wife, Andrea); brother, Cornell Grover (wife, Erica); sister, Yolonda Mallett; brother in law, Melvin Vonner; fur grandbaby, Kai Cobb; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie Cobb and Wayne Grover; and sister, Rosemary Womack.
Robert’s love inspiration, and guidance will be greatly missed.
