How to sign up for TCEQ public notices by email

With growing concern surrounding the proposed plant project in Raywood and questions about how public notices were published in small-circulation newspapers in neighboring counties, many residents are asking how they can stay informed about projects that may impact their communities.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) offers a free service that allows Texans to receive permit notices directly by email for specific counties or ZIP codes.

Residents can sign up online by visiting:

https://ctaep.tceq.texas.gov/PNE

After clicking the link, users will be taken to the “Permit Notices by Email” page.

The process is straightforward:

First, enter your email address. After entering the email, click the button underneath to send a verification code to your inbox.

Once the verification code is received, enter the code on the website and continue to the next step.

Users will then be asked to enter their name and address. After entering the information, click the “Verify Address” button.

Once the address is verified, users can move to the next step, where they can select the county or counties — or even specific ZIP codes — for which they want to receive public notices.

After successfully subscribing, TCEQ will send a confirmation email confirming the subscription.

By signing up, residents can receive notices about permit applications and environmental projects affecting their area without relying solely on newspaper publications or word-of-mouth.

For many residents concerned about transparency and staying informed, the service offers a direct way to keep track of projects that could impact their communities.
