Carl William Templeman Jr.

Carl William Templeman Jr., 63, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 20, 2026. He was born on Feb. 8, 1963, in Kirksville, Mo., to Carl and Virginia Templeman, Sr.

Carl was raised in Illinois and graduated from Kewanee High School. Following high school, he attended Black Hawk College, where he studied auto mechanics. After college, he worked at a Dodge dealership in Kewanee and also spent time working as a farmhand. In the 1990s, Carl moved to Texas, where he worked in construction as an apprentice electrician before becoming a licensed journeyman electrician, a profession he remained dedicated to until his retirement.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Virginia Templeman; his brother, Roy Templeman; his brother-in-law, Kevin Trimpe; and his nephews, Jesse Mullen and Nathan Bass.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Fran Templeman; his brother, Dave (Regina) Templeman; and his sisters, Sue (Ron) Mullen, Cindy Trimpe, and Mary (Dan) Bass, along with his many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Family meant everything to Carl. Although he never had children of his own, he lovingly treated his 19 nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He cherished spending time with them—taking them fishing and hunting, going to movies and restaurants, attending baseball games, and playing cards and games together. Carl enjoyed offering advice, sharing life lessons, and, at times, trying to keep everyone in line, often with a sense of humor.

Carl had a deep love for his hunting dogs, especially his beagles and labs, whom he cared for over the years. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, going to the movies, playing games and crafts, and spending quiet time at home watching television. His favorite programs included Fox News, sports—especially Chicago Bears football—cooking shows, and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Carl had a special passion for Christmas and enjoyed keeping decorations up year-round. He devoted much of his life to caring for his parents until their passing.

Though you left us far too soon, the beautiful life you lived will never be forgotten and will remain with all of us forever.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” -John 3:16
