The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has successfully dismantled a multi-county burglary ring responsible for a series of commercial burglaries across Southeast Texas.
The investigation began following a burglary at the Shell gas station located in The Woodlands. CRU units quickly identified a suspect vehicle and its registered owner, Tyrese Nicholas. Further investigation revealed the same vehicle and suspects were involved in a burglary at a Tractor Supply store in Conroe on the same night.
As the investigation expanded, CRU determined the criminal activity spanned multiple counties, including Montgomery, Harris, Walker and Grimes. Investigators located the suspect vehicle in Houston and partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, which linked the group to additional burglaries in Navasota, Huntsville and Willis.

On March 3, 2026, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office West Command patrol deputies pursued suspects connected to the burglary ring, who were later determined to have just committed a burglary in Grimes County. The pursuit resulted in the arrest of Angel Ponce for evading arrest.
On April 9, 2026, CRU units, working alongside the Conroe Police Department, conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles associated with the burglary crew. Deputies identified all occupants and recovered stolen property from a Huntsville burglary, including tobacco products, as well as clothing worn during the commission of the crime.
Through coordinated efforts with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, Conroe Police Department, Tomball Police Department and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, arrest warrants were secured for six individuals on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity. All six suspects, who are from the Houston area, have been taken into custody:
- Angel Ponce — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Tyrese Nicholas — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Reginald Bryant — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Kameron Rivera-Davis — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Warrick Mason — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Jaylin Jefferson — Gang member with multiple felony convictions
The burglary ring is responsible for approximately $25,000 in stolen property, including power tools, hand tools, cigarettes, clothing and other tobacco products.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office thanked all agencies involved in the investigation, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Conroe Police Department, Houston Police Department, Tomball Police Department, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department and Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
