Multi-agency operation nets 42 kilograms of meth near Cleveland

Liberty County Sheriff’s Office investigators seized approximately 42 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during the execution of a search warrant Monday, June 15, at a property in the 400 block of CR 5037 in Colony Ridge.

According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Interdiction/Narcotics Unit received information that the residence was being used as a conversion lab for producing bulk quantities of methamphetamine. Investigators obtained a search warrant from 75th District Judge Michelle Merendino before conducting the operation.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies, along with federal and state authorities, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department, executed the search warrant at the property.

Authorities said the residence was not being used as a home but was instead being utilized solely for the conversion and distribution of methamphetamine.

During the search, investigators recovered approximately 42 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine that had already been packaged and was allegedly ready for distribution throughout the area.

No individuals were present at the property when authorities arrived, and no arrests were made. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office thanked the assisting agencies for their support in the operation and stated that cooperative efforts among law enforcement agencies are vital in combating drug trafficking organizations operating in the region.
