On June 10, 2026, Shirley Ann Boyd, lovingly known as Gigi to her late husband of 56 years, Allen Ray, and Moon Deer to her Native American Indigenous friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes.
Shirley will be missed by her large family who she held close and cherished above all else. Shirley was a first responder and held the title of Chaplin with the Woodpecker VFD for many years. Shirley made her life’s work helping others with degrees in Reflexology, Polarity Therapy and she held a license as an instructor for Massage Therapy.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Allen Ray Boyd and a daughter Larenda Lee Hagen.
Shirley leaves her four children and their spouses: daughter LaLonde Ann Vanover and spouse Mark Vanover, son Matthew Allen Ray Boyd and spouse Leslie Boyd, son William Richard Boyd and daughter LaLaney Marlene Boyd.
Shirley had 10 grandchildren: Michelle House, Jenifer Robinson, Vanessa Payne, Jess Hagan Weston Hagan, Paxton Boyd, Delaney Dambeck, Syrah Dambeck, Shelby Dambeck and Austin Dambeck. Shirley also had 10 great grandchildren: Christian Hensley, Jayden Robinson, McKynzie Robinson, Gavin Robinson, Sebastian Mansperger, Lilly Mansperger, Emma House, Oliver House, Odin House and Knox Payne.
Shirley also leaves two brothers Charlie and Gill (Dubby) as well as a large extended family including Michael Big Un’ Wahlenberg and Jack Hagan.
Shirley loved growing her garden of eat’en, collecting crystals and making dream catchers to gift others with. Shirley honored her Native American Heritage and was a firewalker at the many firewalks and sweat lodges she attended.
Shirley will be missed by all who knew and loved her, who now take comfort in her being with her Lord and the Great Spirit.
A memorial service and firewalk for Shirley will be held with the location and date to be determined later.
