Linda Gail Fallis Tackett

Gail Tackett, 69, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Houston. Born on Oct. 12, 1956, in Wynne, Ark., at Cross County Hospital to parents Thomas Joe Fallis and Mary Cook Fallis. Gail adored her parents and was proud to be the daughter of a farmer and carried her hometown values with her throughout her life. After graduating from Wynne High School, she followed her calling into nursing and earned her degree from Arkansas State University — a path that perfectly matched her gentle, caring nature.

For 35 years, Gail served her community with dedication. She worked in the hospital, later in home health, and eventually became the beloved school nurse at Dayton High School. Her kindness, calm presence, and warm smile made her a comforting figure to students, families, and coworkers alike.

Gail loved the simple joys of life — traveling, watching movies, working puzzles, and getting lost in a good book. But her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Whether she was reading with them, sharing a movie, or listening to their stories, she made each child feel deeply loved and cherished.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Audie Tackett; daughter, April Key and husband Michael; son, Andy Tackett and wife Natalie; twin brother, Dale Fallis and wife Tish; sister, Sharon Midkiff and husband James; sister in law, Kim Tackett; and her treasured grandchildren: Beaux Richey, Lilah Tackett, Cali Tackett, and Drew Tackett.

Visitation will be held from 10 –11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Graveside services will follow on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Wynne, Arkansas, under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.

Gail leaves behind a legacy of love, gentleness, and devotion — one that will live in the hearts of her family, especially her grandchildren who will carry her memory forward in every joyful moment she inspired.
