
Michael Anthony Ford Sr., beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Wells, Texas. Born on Jan. 15, 1959, Michael’s remarkable life touched many through his devotion, unwavering spirit, and the warmth he extended to all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Barbers Hill High School and a member of the Class of 1978, Michael distinguished himself in his youth as an outstanding athlete, excelling in both softball and basketball. His passion for sports was more than a pastime, and he leaves a lasting legacy, holding records for basketball that stand as a testament to his talent, perseverance, and dedication.
Michael built his career as a groundskeeper for Goose Creek CISD, where he found his calling in caring for the baseball fields. His attention to detail and genuine love for being outdoors shone through in everything he did. Michael took pride in his work, knowing that he played an important role for the students and athletes who would make new memories on those same grounds.
Beyond his professional life, Michael was known for his boundless love of family and friends. His gentle spirit was seasoned with a love for the simple pleasures: the peace of fishing along the water’s edge, the thrill of squirrel hunting, the contentment of grilling under the shade of a tree, and spirited games of checkers and chess with loved ones. Michael’s deep faith and commitment as a faithful servant to the Lord were evident to all who spent time in his company, guidance that offered comfort and inspiration to those around him.
Family remained at the heart of Michael’s world. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Myka Ford; his devoted stepson, Kapatrick Reescano; his loving sister, Rosetta Scott; his treasured grandchild, Onyx Ford; and his Goddaughter A’Miya Jordan, who was also close to his heart. Michael was preceded in death by his father Wilford Ford, his mother Evelina Ford, his son Michael Ford Jr., and his brother Wilford Lee Ford. Their memory lives on in Michael’s enduring love for his family and the values he held dear.
Michael’s legacy is woven into countless lives through the kindness he extended, the stories he shared, and the steadfastness with which he approached each day. His laughter, wisdom, and unfailing support will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation for Michael will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas, 77327. Funeral services will follow at the same location beginning at 1 p.m. as family and friends gather to honor and remember Michael Anthony Ford Sr.’s remarkable life and lasting legacy.
