Kandis Eagelton, 40, of Liberty, Texas, passed July 31, 2026.
Services are Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Cornerstone Church, 1693 Highway 146 Bypass, Liberty, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Wells Cemetery, Liberty, Texas.
Kandis Rene Dugat Eagleton was born on Nov. 6, 1985, to the late Denetria Redmond and Alonzo Dugat, Sr. Kandis was a woman of unwavering faith whose trust in God guided her throughout her life. Her strength, grace, and compassionate spirit were a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew her and loved her.
Kandis graduated from Liberty High School in 2004, then she went on to attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where she graduated Cum Laude receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sociology. Soon after she became a certified teacher and worked at Cambridge school in Humble and Lonestar College in Kingwood for several years. In 2015, even while going through chemo she received her Master’s Degree from Angelo State University. In 20, she started teaching at Woodrow Wilson Junior High, for many years and in 2025 she became the 8th grade counselor up until her passing.
Above all, Kandis treasured her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her beloved daughter Janelle Reece Eagleton, who was the light of her life. She also shared a special bond with her father, Alonzo Dugat, Sr. (Betty). Her siblings Brittany Redmond, TiMichael (Cassie), Alonzo, Jr. (Jazz), Megan (Christopher) and extended siblings Deanka, Keffer, and Destiny (Jeremy). God children Briasia Jenkins, Braeden White, and Cameron Pratt. She also leaves behind HER Granny (as she would say) Mrs. Bennie and host nieces and nephews and family and friends. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did.
Kandis will be remembered for her kind heart, resilient spirit, and the encouragement she freely gave to others. Her faith carried her through life’s joys and challenges, and her legacy of love, hope and devotion will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Though she will be deeply missed, those who loved Kandis find comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she now rests in the eternal peace of God’s presence. “WELL DONE, THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.”- Matthew 25:23
