
Robert Anthony Whittaker Sr., of Dayton, Texas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1964, in Kountze, Texas, to Louia Robert Whittaker Sr. and Peggy Ann Shipp Whittaker. In his younger years, he drove a truck for Acme Trucking in Louisiana. He later dedicated many years to correctional service, spending 15 years as a Sergeant for T.D.C.J., 2 years as a Lieutenant for Liberty County, and 5 years as a Sergeant for the Baytown Police Department.
He earned his GED in 2006 and went on to receive his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Lee College in League City in 2009. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid gun collector and a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved watching westerns, especially The Rifleman and Gunsmoke, and his love for his grandchildren was unwavering.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Elizabeth Kemp, brother, Sammy Dewayne Whittaker and daughter, Carmen Renee Mobley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory son, Robert Whittaker Jr and wife Lacie; daughter Mirand Whittaker, sisters, Kathleen Whittaker and Brandy Whittaker; brothers Louia Whittaker Jr and wife Regina, Timothy Whittaker and wife Melissa, Larry Whittaker and Shannon Trey’ Whittaker. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren Baileigh Grace Whittaker, Destiny Faith Whittaker, Bodee Allen Whittaker and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel in Liberty.
Reception will follow services at the home of Timothy and Melissa Whittaker.
