On Dec. 19, 1954, Neda Faye Bass was born in Cleveland, Texas, to the late Izer Netter and Herman Bass. She was a beloved daughter, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, treasured family member, and loyal friend whose love touched the lives of everyone she met.
Neda attended Douglas High School. She was known for her warm heart, caring spirit, and joyful personality. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for making people feel welcome. Her kindness, sense of humor, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
Above all, Neda’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life. She found happiness in spending time with them, encouraging them, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her love was unconditional, her hugs were comforting, and her presence brought peace and joy to those around her. Neda lived her life with strength, grace, and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
On July 19, 2026, Neda peacefully entered eternal rest. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit and precious memories will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
Neda was preceded in death by her parents, Izer Netter and Herman Bass; her sister, Marilyn Lewis; and her brothers, Charles Bass and Herman Bass, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Vincent Bass and Garland Bass (Tefairela); her grandchildren, David Franklin, Brandon Hines, Claudia Whitten (Alexander), Omarriean Neely (Zoe), Kyjuan Rushing, Iz’shanaie Hubert, Sy’Essia Bass, and Yah‘Ziah Bass; her great-grandchildren, Milani Franklin, Mateo Soto, Ezaiah Soto, Jeremyah Soto, and Damain Soto; her brothers, Sterling Davidson (Cashonda) of Cleveland, TX, and Harold Tunson of Houston, TX; her sisters, Erma Marshall of Houston, TX, Shirley Harrison of Conroe, TX, Marcella Robertson of Cleveland, TX, Terry Shewin of Katy, TX, Brenda Bass of Conroe, TX, Cynthia Grimes of Louisiana, and Bridget Bass of Katy, TX; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
Neda’s life was a beautiful example of love, faith, compassion, and resilience. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide us, her memories will forever bring us joy, and her legacy will live on through the family she cherished so dearly.

In memory of a life well lived, a Celebration of Life for Neda will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home 200 S Washington Ave Cleveland, Texas 77327, beginning at 1:00 PM.
