Forest Weiler Walker, 79, of Liberty, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2026, in Liberty.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to William Willard Walker and Genevieve Eva Weiler Walker.
Forest was a former resident of Houston and had made Liberty his home since 2001. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School and retired as a correctional officer from the Liberty County Jail. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading the Bible and greeted everyone with the words, “Jesus loves you”. He loved talking to others about Jesus.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Willard Walker Jr.; and his sister, Kathleen Louise Kirby.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marietta Lynn Chapman Walker; his daughters, Rachel Naomi Shanks and husband Michael, and Tabitha Stephanie Ramone and husband Patrick Kevin Jr.; his grandchildren, Fernando Enrique Jimenez Jr., Xavier Alfonso Jimenez, Zoe Eugenia Jimenez, Patrick Kevin Ramone III, Enrique Colin Ramone, and Yvonne Esther Ramone; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty, with Brother Tim Gruver officiating.

Forest was truly a light for Christ. He never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus, always greeting everyone with his heartfelt words, “Jesus loves you.” He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived his faith genuinely, without judgment, always caring for others.
As our faithful greeter at the church doors, Forest welcomed everyone with a smile and a kind heart. He rarely missed a service, faithfully attended church functions, volunteered whenever he could, and studied his Bible daily. His life was a beautiful example of what it means to love God and love people.
Forest didn’t just talk about Jesus—he lived for Him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his testimony, kindness, and love for Christ will live on in all who knew him. I know Forest is now hearing those precious words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Until we meet again. ❤️🙏
