Sally Ann Morgan Taylor, 89, of Liberty, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026. She was known to the entire community as Miss Sally (but Grannie to her grandkids) and was sought out by many as a resource for local happenings, election opinions and proper etiquette. She was considered the “ultimate hostess”. She took pride in being well informed on local issues and did not hold back if you asked her opinion.
Sally was born on July 25, 1937, in Terry, Miss., to Richard B. Morgan Sr. and Catherine Matthews Morgan. She grew up in Mississippi with her parents and her older brother Richard B. Morgan, Jr., known fondly as “Dickie.”
She lived in many cities while raising her three children. In Louisiana, she worked at a hospital in emergency room admitting as well as at a rehab facility. She embraced each community where she lived.
Sally became a resident of Liberty, Texas, in 2005. She quickly made it her home, loving everything and everyone. She was active in the Methodist church community and was a member of South Liberty Methodist Church. Sally formed many lasting friendships, and she definitely never met a stranger. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and love for helping others will be remembered by all who knew her.
Sally enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was an accomplished baker and enjoyed cooking for others. She was a loyal fan of Houston Astros baseball and Houston Texans football. Above all, Sally enjoyed helping others in countless thoughtful ways.
Sally Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her son, William Morgan Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Sullivant (Mike) and Suzanne Snider; grandchildren, Benjamin Sullivant (Lindy), Bryan Sullivant (Katelyn), Michael Snider (Callie), Jeffrey Snider (Parris), Meridath Milner (John), and Morgan Taylor (Kaitlyn); great-grandchildren, Skyler and Jimmy Sullivant, Evan and Emma Snider, John and Henry Milner, and Sebastian and Charlotte Taylor. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, at South Liberty Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
