Chasity Lu’Rae Murray passed away peacefully on Aug. 25, 2026, in Mexia, Texas, at the age of 49. She was born on Aug. 22, 1977, in Big Spring, Texas, and will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
Chasity graduated from Splendora High School in Splendora, Texas, and continued her education at Lone Star College in Kingwood, Texas, where she studied in the medical field. She carried with her a spirit reflected in the things she loved most in spending time with her children Chloe and Elisha. She loved to read and capture pictures of the early morning sunrise and late sunsets on the farm, sunflowers, yellow roses, and the colors baby blue and turquoise and silver. Her favorite quote, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain,” captured the outlook that meant so much to her and remains a lasting reflection of her heart.
Above all, Chasity’s life was deeply rooted in family. She is survived by her parents, David and Diane Wells, and Chuck and Donna Stotts. She also leaves behind her beloved children, Chloe Lu’Rae Harley Murray and Elisha Allen Murray. Her memory will be cherished by her brothers, Allen and wife Shellie Kay Wells, Charles Stotts, and Nathan Ryan Wells, and by her sister, Rebecca Danielle Stotts. She is also lovingly remembered by her nephews, Wade, Landon, and Jaxson, and her nieces, Harlee, Presslee, Allie, Timberlee, and Oaklee. Completing the circle of those dear to her are her beloved dogs, Waldo and Bear, who were a special part of her life.
Chasity was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Timothy Neal, and her grandson, Hudson Dewayne Turner Neal. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Carlton Stotts; her grandparents, John and Ruth Goodman, Vivian Mason, Charles Stotts Monroe and Helga Wells, and Stepmother Connie Stotts; her great grandparents, Cecil and Fannie Baldwin; her uncles, Samuel, Sam, Lonnie, Larry, Billy, Travis, and Charlie; and her aunts, Margie, Alice, Bonnie, Josie, Terry, and Gail. Their memories remained part of the family story that surrounded her throughout her life.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sept. 15, 2026, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home, 200 South Washington Avenue, Cleveland, Texas 77327. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home.
Chasity Lu’Rae Murray will be remembered for the love she held for her family, the beauty she found in the world around her, and the enduring spirit she carried through life. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and peace in the days ahead.
