Frederick Malcolm Stewart, 87, passed away on Sept. 8, 2026. He was born on May 8, 1939, in Willow, Calif., to Malcolm Stewart and Myrtle Anderson.
Frederick spent many years living and working in California, where he was employed by Winn’s Oil Company. He later moved to Missouri, where he worked as a custodian. Following his retirement, Frederick made his way to Texas and had called Devers home for the past 18 years.
Frederick attended Devers Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his free time reading, especially western novels by Louis L’Amour and other stories of the American West. He also had a love for country music and enjoyed listening to the songs and artists that brought him joy over the years.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Stewart and Myrtle Anderson; and his sister, Myrtle Jeanette Eastridge.
He is survived by his brother, Rex Stewart and wife Barbara; his nieces, Terry Dale and husband Ty, and Tammie Hirth and husband Paul; along with other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service honoring Frederick’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
