Harold Dickerson Sr., 82, of Liberty, Texas, passed Sept. 10, 2026.
Services are Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 1600 Wallisville Rd., Liberty, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lone Star Cemetery Moss Bluff, Texas (Liberty).
Harold Dickerson was born on Aug. 8, 1944, in Liberty, Texas, to the late Calvin and Alma Dickerson. He was introduced to Christ at an early age and attended school in Liberty, Texas, where he was raised and became a familiar and beloved presence in his community.
In 1964, Harold married Laura Antoine. To this union, two children were born, Debra Dickerson and Harold Dickerson Jr.
Harold was a hardworking and dedicated man who believed in providing for his family and serving others. For more than 30 years, he was a devoted employee of Brown & Root, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Retirement, however, did not slow Harold down. He continued to work and serve the Liberty community, becoming known to many as a local trash collector. Later, he became a trusted wood supplier, providing wood to area restaurants, family members, friends, and local residents. Through his work, Harold developed countless relationships throughout the community. His strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others were just a few of the qualities that made him so special.
In 1982, Harold married Leslie Stokes, and to this union, Margo Dickerson was born.
Harold was truly a great man whose life touched many people. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, relative, and friend. His presence, love, hard work, and the memories he created throughout his life will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be genuinely missed, but his memory and legacy will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Alma Dickerson; two sisters, Zerline Green and Gladys Dickerson; and three brothers, Calvin Dickerson Jr., Prentis Dickerson, and Edward Dickerson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, Debra Dickerson, Harold Dickerson Jr., Patrick (Tiffany) Dickerson, Nikeisha (Shawn) Dickerson-Love, Tamesia Shaw, Rita (Felipe) Burton, and Margo (Javier) Williams; two brothers, Louis Dickerson and Clifton Dickerson; one sister, Erma Randolph; and his adopted nephew, Joseph Semien.
Harold’s legacy will also live on through his 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though Harold’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, the work of his hands, and the memories he created will never be forgotten. His family will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts.
Rest well, Harold. A life well lived, a man deeply loved, and a legacy that will continue for generations.
