Judy Carol Whitehead, 82, of Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully on Oct. 14, 2026. Born on Oct. 16, 1943, in Liberty, she was the cherished daughter of Esker Evans and Muriel Walters Evans.
Judy graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School and continued her education at Lee College. A devoted Christian and member of First Baptist Church, she also touched the lives of many children through her work as a teacher’s aide at the Liberty co-op.

Judy loved listening to classic country artists such as Vince Gill and Freddy Fender, along with the sounds of the 1950s, especially Fats Domino. An Astros fan, she also enjoyed settling in to watch her favorite Western television series, Gunsmoke. Red was her favorite color, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy leaves behind her beloved husband, Jimmie Whitehead; her son, Jimmie Whitehead, Jr .and wife April; Jay Whitehead and wife Amy; Jonathan Whitehead and wife Onya; her sister, Alice Carr; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many loving extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Esker Evans; her mother, Muriel Evans; her brother, Bob Evans; her sister in law Marguerite; her sister, Betty Garrett; her brothers-in-law, James Garrett, Vernon Whitehead, and Donald Whitehead niece Gay Wilkerson and nephew Mike Garrett.
Judy’s loving devotion to her family will always be remembered, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
