With heavy hearts and loving memories, we share the passing of our beloved, Sherry Goodwin, who joined her loved ones in heaven on Oct. 24, 2026, at the age of 64.
She was born Sept. 13, 1962, in Liberty, Texas, to Cecil and Patty Goodwin. Some people have a way of making the world a little brighter just by being in it. Sherry Goodwin was one of those special people. With her friendly personality, contagious smile, and genuine love for people.
To know Sherry was to know someone who truly enjoyed people. She never met a stranger, and she certainly never passed up an opportunity for a good visit! Whether she was catching up with an old friend, striking up a conversation with someone new, or simply stopping to say hello, Sherry always had something to talk about and a smile to share. She loved to visit laugh and enjoy the company of those around her. And if you had a little time to spare, Sherry was always happy to fill it with conversation.
One of the things that made Sherry so special was her remarkable ability to remember people. She never forgot someone she had met along the way. She found joy in life’s simplest pleasures, a friendly face, a good laugh, a familiar story, and time spent with the people she loved.
Sherry leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, including her parents, Cecil and Patty Goodwin; her sister, Kathy Nelson and husband David; her brother, David Goodwin and wife Lisa; her niece, Ashley Nelson and husband Corey Gunter; and her nephews Eric Nelson and Kade Goodwin, Aunt Francis Disotell, Uncle Donald Sheffield, and Aunt Lillian, and Aunt Jane Sheffield and several cousins.
Although her family and friends will miss her dearly, they will forever cherish the little things that made Sherry who she was.
