Naked man allegedly tries to break into Dayton home

Authorities arrested a man Wednesday morning who allegedly tried to break into a house on the 1000 block of CR 6479 in Dayton while completely naked.

The homeowner told authorities she first discovered the man outside her back window, taking a bath in a small plastic pool used by the family’s dog, according to Deputy Danielle Barry. The female homeowner called her husband, who told her to hang up and call 9-1-1, Barry added.

By the time deputies arrived a few minutes later, the naked man, Justin Dwayne Hunter, 35, allegedly had attempted to force his way into the house but was unsuccessful. He was being detained by the female homeowner’s brother-in-law in the front yard of the home, Barry said.

Hunter’s clothing was found in a nearby barn lying on a tractor. Barry said it appears he had been at the property for quite a while prior to his arrest.

Hunter was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication. He was held in the Liberty County Jail on a $500 bond. On Thursday, he was charged with Attempted Burglary of a Habitation. Bond information for the second charge is not available at this time.
