Dayton HS choir members advancing to State

Dayton High School choir members earned a total of 22 first division medals at a UIL Solo and Ensemble competition at Westbrook High School in Beaumont on Feb. 2.

The Dayton High School Choir attended the UIL Solo and Ensemble competition at Westbrook High School in Beaumont on Feb. 2.

All the choir students who attended the contest earned first division on their solos and ensembles for a total of 22 first division medals.

Jade Laza and Stephanie Santamaria earned first division ranking on Class 2 solos. Chloe Libey, Elizabet Escobar, Rosendo Rodriguez, Paeten Bargas, Matthew Seal, Kaynah Cox, Saide Cerecedo and Alicia Shelton earned first division on Class 1 solos and will advance to State UIL Solo competition at the University of Texas in May.

The following students performed in a medium ensemble and earned a first division rating: Sebastian Villarreal, Abecede Ivey, Katelynn Fowler, Bryan Rodriguez, Jade Laza, Chloe Libey, Rosendo Rodriguez, Paeten Bargas, Matthew Seal, Kaynah Cox, Saide Cerecedo and Alicia Shelton.
