Francisco Grimaldo

Francisco Grimaldo, 93, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at his residence, with his loving family by his side. He was born in San Felipe, Mexico, on September 25, 1929, to the late Pedro and Juliana Grimaldo Muniz. Francisco was very obedient in his faith. He was an active member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac.

Francisco has been a member of the Anahuac community for more than fifty years. He was an extremely hard-working man, who always made sure his family had everything they needed. Francisco made his career as a rice farmer and Ranch hand, working for both the Kirkham and Lagow families.

Francisco pursued many interests some of which included working around the house, spending time outdoors working in the yard, tending to his wife’s garden, and fixing things. He had a love for playing baseball, and he was good at it. Francisco had a passion for teaching others what he knew. He loved to tell stories of his childhood and the things he experienced throughout his lifetime. Francisco was not only giving of his knowledge but he enjoyed giving his time to those he loved dearly.

Francisco was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Maria Candelaria; his infants sons Alberto and Rodolfo Grimaldo; his grandsons Alberto Cabrera and Juanito G. Grimaldo; and his numerous siblings. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife of seventy-four years Maria Aurora Grimaldo; his children Juana Chavez and husband Anastacio of Anahuac, Francisco Grimaldo, Jr. and wife Felipa of Anahuac, Eva Cabrera and husband Santos of Smith Point, Rosario Moreno and husband Ramiro of Anahuac, Ortencia Grimaldo and husband Defino of Madisonville, Eugenia Mejia and husband Luis of Anahuac, Juan Grimaldo and wife Alicia of Anahuac, Maria De Jesus Yebra and husband Herculano of Anahuac, Lupe Guzman and husband Manuel of Anahuac; his fifty-two grandchildren; his one hundred forty-eight great-grandchildren, and his twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 8pm, on Sunday, June 25, 2023, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10am, on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, 2207 S. Main Street, in Anahuac, with Fr. Philip Tran as Celebrant. A Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.

Francisco Grimaldo, de 93 años, de Anáhuac, Texas, falleció el lunes 19 de junio de 2023 en su residencia, con su amada familia a su lado. Nació en San Felipe, México, el 25 de septiembre de 1929, hijo de los difuntos Pedro y Juliana Grimaldo Muniz. Francisco fue muy obediente en su fe. Fue Adorador de la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de la Luz en Anáhuac.
Francisco ha sido miembro de la comunidad Anáhuac por más de cincuenta años. Era un hombre extremadamente trabajador, que siempre se aseguraba de que su familia tuviera todo lo que necesitaba. Francisco hizo su carrera como agricultor de arroz y peón de rancho, trabajando para las familias Kirkham y Lagow.

Francisco persiguió muchos intereses, algunos de los cuales incluían trabajar en la casa, pasar tiempo al aire libre trabajando en el jardín, cuidando el jardín de su esposa y arreglando cosas. Deja atrás para atesorar su amoroso recuerdo a su amada esposa de setenta y cuatro años, María Aurora Grimaldo; sus hijos Juana Chavez y esposo Anastacio de Anahuac, Francisco Grimaldo, Jr. y esposa Felipa de Anahuac, Eva Cabrera y esposo Santos de Smith Point, Rosario Moreno y esposo Ramiro de Anahuac, Ortencia Grimaldo y esposo Defino de Madisonville, Eugenia Mejia y esposo Luis de Anáhuac, Juan Grimaldo y esposa Alicia de Anáhuac, María De Jesús Yebra y esposo Herculano de Anáhuac, Lupe Guzmán y esposo Manuel de Anáhuac; sus cincuenta y dos nietos; sus ciento cuarenta y ocho bisnietos y sus veintinueve tataranietos; junto con una multitud de otros parientes y amigos cariñosos.

Los amigos están invitados a visitar a la familia de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., el domingo 25 de junio de 2023, en la capilla de Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street en Anáhuac. Se llevará a cabo una Misa de Resurrección a las 10 am, el lunes 26 de junio de 2023, en la Iglesia Católica Our Lady of Light, 2207 S. Main Street, en Anahuac, con el Padre. Philip Tran como Celebrante. Inmediatamente seguirá un Rito de Entierro en el Cementerio Anáhuac.
