When it comes to thoroughness and precision, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office employee Peggy Bourgeois rises to the top making her the May 2024 Employee of the Month.
Bourgeois’ meticulous approach ensures that every piece of evidence is impeccably documented and securely stored. As the custodian of evidence at the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, she diligently maintains records and safeguards all items in her care.
From handling sexual assault kits to transporting drugs to the DPS crime lab, Peggy oversees the entire chain of custody to uphold the integrity of each item. Additionally, she fulfills the crucial role of delivering evidence to the courtroom and providing testimony as needed.
Behind the scenes, Bourgeois plays a vital role in managing the disposition of evidence, a responsibility she approaches with dedication. Her commitment and expertise have made her an invaluable asset since joining the LCSO in 2003.
