Christian Martinez and Aeszyiah Hawthorne were crowned the 2024 Cleveland High School Homecoming King and Queen during a ceremony at the homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 4, wrapping up a week filled with school pride and excitement.
The homecoming festivities kicked off earlier in the week, featuring a lively parade through downtown Cleveland on Thursday, Oct. 3, where students, teachers, and community members gathered to cheer on the Indians. The tradition continued later that evening with the Burning of the C bonfire.
The competition for the royal titles was strong this year. In addition to Hawthorne, Queen candidates included Amaya Banks and Natasha Miller, while Daren Reece and Eleazar Rivera competed alongside Martinez for the King’s crown.
The celebration also extended to underclassmen, with Jahmaud Jordan and Ebony Simpson being named Freshman Class Lord and Lady, Nelson Nicholas and Ja’Mizayae Caldwell serving as the Sophomore Duke and Duchess, and Josafat Sanchez and Jackelyne Bautista being selected as the Junior Prince and Princess.
