Daniel Allan Kira was born Feb. 25, 1945, in Bayonne, New Jersey, to parents, Nicholas Kira and Agnes Armstrong Kira. He entered Heaven’s Gates on April 11, 2026, in Coldspring, Texas, at the age of 81.
Daniel served our country in the US Army and retired from Western Electric where he worked in communications. Daniel was also a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Point Blank, Texas. He was so proud of his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Agnes Kira; sister, Margie Kakalec. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine Kira; beloved sons, Nicholas Daniel Kira, and Stephen Patrick Kira and Jennifer Meyer Kira; beloved grandchildren, Harley Kathleen Kira, Elaina Ann Kira, Lillian Pearl Kira, Daniel James Kira, and Owen Axel Kira.
Visitation will be held at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring, Texas on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. Rosary Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Mass will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Father Daokim Nguyen officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Nicholas Daniel Kira, Stephen Patrick Kira, Harley Kira, Elaina Kira, Lillian Kira, Daniel James Kira, and Owen Kira. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association, Tunnell to Towers Foundation or a Veterans Foundation of choice. An inurnment will be scheduled at a later date at the Houston National Cemetery.
