Bonnie Ruth Walker Bailey, 87, a resident of Splendora, Texas, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born Feb. 9,1939, in Tarkington Prairie, Texas, to the late Maydell and Pastor Hovis Walker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Pastor Forest Bridges, sister Kathleen Fachinger, brother L.G. Walker, sister Jo Phelps, brother Pastor James Bridges and son Jerry Dent.
Bonnie met and married her soulmate, Troy Frank Bailey. They shared a beautiful forty-five plus years of love, raising their blended families. They enjoyed traveling the country near and far and exploring in their travel trailer.
Bonnie is survived by her sweetheart, Troy and their children Paula Parsley and husband John, Rhonda Jackson and husband Robert, Teresa Bailey and husband Mike Hejduk, Kevin Bailey and wife Kelly, Todd Bailey and wife Marla, and honorary daughters Mary Margaret Dent and Kay Unkeaw.
Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Kari Bishop and husband Chris, Wendi Tharp, Tia Juergen and husband Dwayne, Alicia Bailey, Trevor Jackson and wife Shammi, Ashton Bailey, Michael Barriere and wife Iriel, Hayden Dent and fiancé Rache’l, Zackary Bailey, Harrison Bailey, Ethan Dent, Carson Bailey and fiancé Shelby, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Bonnie is also survived by her brother, R.J. Walker and wife, Martha Anne, sister Pat Williams and husband Herb, sister-in-law Joyce Bridges and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonnie worked for the City of Houston at Intercontinental Airport for 20 years until she retired in 1994 to care for her father-in-law.
A beloved and dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Bonnie was most proud of her family and loved them all deeply. She enjoyed cooking and was famous for her decadent coconut cake – a family favorite. Bonnie loved family gatherings and attending events featuring her children or grandchildren.
Deeply faithful, Bonnie learned well from her loving parents the spiritual practices of serving and giving. She faithfully served as a member of Women’s Ministries for many years. Bonnie and Troy helped to found the Senior Adult Ministries group at their church, Plum Grove Assembly of God, where they made so many sweet memories with friends. She was well known for showing her love with a meal, a dish, or an amazing dessert for church events and celebrations, as well as to cheer the elderly, sick, hurting or grieving.
Bonnie was a competitive lady who was always ready for a game – from dominos with her family to the monthly girls’ game days with daughters and daughters-in-law or the church’s annual 42 dominos tournament. A favorite memory was when she and her son, Jerry, won the tournament.
Bonnie will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew and loved this sweet lady with a kind and gentle nature. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, from 5to 8 p.m., at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Her life will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland with a graveside service immediately following at Ryan Cemetery.
