Houston double-homicide suspect captured in Liberty County

A man sought by Houston police in connection with a double homicide was taken into custody Monday morning, Oct. 5, in Liberty County after officers tracked his vehicle into the county and conducted a felony traffic stop near Cleveland.

According to Liberty County Pct. 5 Constable David Hunter, Houston police were searching for a Hispanic male in connection with the shooting deaths of two people around 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in the area of Interstate 45 and Crosstimbers Street in Houston.

The suspect reportedly fled the Houston area following the shootings.

Hunter said authorities were able to track the suspect’s vehicle through Flock license plate reader cameras as it traveled into Liberty County. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office subsequently issued a BOLO — be on the lookout — alert to area law enforcement agencies.

Officers from multiple Liberty County agencies began searching for the vehicle.

A deputy with the Liberty County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office spotted the vehicle near the intersection of SH 321 and SH 105 in the Tarkington area. A Pct. 5 deputy constable was nearby and responded to assist.

Officers followed the vehicle northbound on SH 321 toward Cleveland before conducting a felony traffic stop on SH 321 near CR 316, in the area of the duck pond south of the American Legion Post.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Hunter said firearms were found inside the vehicle, along with a drum magazine for one of the weapons. Authorities have not said whether any of the firearms recovered from the vehicle were used in the Houston shootings.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the arrest.

Houston Police Department officers responded to Liberty County following the arrest. HPD is taking custody of the suspect and returning him to Houston, where he is expected to face charges in connection with the double homicide.

The vehicle is also being turned over to Houston police for processing as part of the homicide investigation. The name of the suspect will be published as soon as it becomes available.

  1. Yet another beaner murderer in Liberty County. I guarantee either he’s a wet, or he’s the offspring of two breeder wets.

Thank you so much Liberty County for being a sanctuary for all these subhuman pieces of filth- and even encouraging them to nest in the area by allowing places like Colony Ridge to STILL be allowed to develop.

The law-abiding citizens of the county really appreciate it! We love having our communities terrorized by these primitive scum.

    • Oh Sammy, just say you’re a Klansman… you and all yours are all racist pieces of trash that will never amount to anything.

Im glad they caught him none the less…
I hope you get whatever you deserve in life.

      • Not a Klansman, brother.

I just have seen enough of the pattern to know what demographic turns a civilized society into a shithole.

20 years ago I was living a peaceful life out here- 4 years ago I was watching my daughter cry because wetbacks were shooting an AK-47 100 feet from her window- and it wasn’t just a “bad apple” family of them. It’s been most of them that have lived out here in some way, shape, or form.

I’ve seen all I need to see, brother.

Wanting a safe, peaceful community to raise a family in is all I want. Realizing what has been stopping me from that is illegal pieces of scum doesn’t make me a “racist”.
